SharkBank

Redesigned a budgeting app for young adults struggling with money confidence. Empathy, tone, and visuals turned stress into clarity.

Young adults often struggle with money management due to a lack of financial education and accessible tools. SharkBank was designed to be a supportive, easy-to-use budgeting app that builds confidence — not shame.

My Process

Surveyed 14 young adults (ages 17–28)

Mapped out user journeys and pain points

Created low-fi and high-fi prototypes

Ran two usability studies and iterated on feedback

Forms response chart. Question title: What is your age?. Number of responses: 16 responses.
Forms response chart. Question title: Do you currently use a budget? . Number of responses: 16 responses.

What I Learned, Empathy and tone aren’t just “nice to have”  they are UX. A kind interface can remove emotional barriers and help users feel capable, even with something as stressful as money.
